Sara –
I really like that these are waterproof since we are coming into fall, fits a bit smaller and tighter than other Ariat boots I have (heritage III). Returning.

I cannot say enough great things about this superior boot! I highly recommend it. I recently traveled Ireland for two weeks with these–no break in time–and they were extremely comfortable from the minute I put them on, and are truly waterproof. These boots go with nearly all kinds of slacks and jeans, especially skinny ones. They are very comfortable with a medium weight sock, although I think a lighter or thicker sock would work just as well. This boot keeps your feet warm, too, but does not overheat your feet. The zipper is a little stiff but nothing that is difficult– It does move well and locks in the boot. I am a 5.5 medium width and the size 6 fit perfectly. I cannot usually say that when I have to jump a size for many other kinds of footwear. These boots were comfortable throughout the many long days I spent travelling. They clean up well, too.

This is my 3rd pair of Ariat boots, but my first of this model. Though I don’t ride horses anymore, I still wear their products because of the quality and fit.
I bought these to be my waterproof winter boots, and they are working great so far. I usually wear an 8.5 (sometimes 9) in many brands, but I wanted a little extra room for thick socks so I ordered a 9, and the fit is perfect. My feet are on the widest end of a “normal” width and the width of the boots feel fine. The boots are a bit stiff at first and I’m still wearing them in, but no discomfort. I did get blisters when I wore my husband’s socks that are too big for my feet. Wear the proper sock size and you should be fine! There is plenty of traction from the sole, though I haven’t tried them in snow yet. I love how easy they are too get on and off. Love the color and style as well!

I have a pair of these, had them for several years, and LOVE them! so great in wet weather. Very water proof, and very comfortable. I put a wool insole in mine. The ankles are a little stiff, I broke them in by only zipping them up part way for the first few months I had them. They were great ever since. I wear my usual size, 7.5m but I have narrow feet. I just bought a pair for a friend as a gift when she moved to Portland OR (wet, damp, cold) from Florida. Her feet are wider in the front than mine, and we had to exchange for a half size larger to fit her. She says those feel fine. Really have been so impressed with the comfort, durability, waterproof quality of these boots. I get compliments on them too, in terms of style.

These shoes was really uncomfortable for me. I wore them to work hoping that I would get used to the fit, but by the end of the day they were rubbing the inside of my heel raw.

These are my first Ariats, but they won’t be my last. I bought them for an upcoming trip to Europe, where I will be doing a lot of walking and the weather will be mixed warm and cold, including wet, rainy days. I have been looking for stylish waterproof boots for a long time. I finally found them – these are terrific!
As so many others have said, comfortable right out of the box, but they are stiff at first and can use a bit of break-in time. I have been wearing them every day (3-days) since I bought them and they are becoming more and more comfortable each day. They were never painful, just stiff. I followed the recommendation of others and have only zipped them halfway to allow the ankle area to loosen up.
They are narrow width, with very narrow opening at the top when zipped all the way up. I am tall and thin, with narrow feet and skinny calves/ankles. These are perfect for me because most boots look way too bulky on me. Also the thin opening is great in rain, no rain falls inside the boot (which is what happens to me with other ankle boots).
I normally wear 8-8.5. I bought the 8.5 and they are are perfect fit with regular socks. They are cozy too, without my feet getting hot and sweaty like rubber boots. They are super cute with skinny jeans and also look great with tights and a skirt. Functional and fashionable – traveling perfection!

These boots are amazing quality — great leather, great arch support, solid zipper. However, I bought them for casual city-wear, not riding, and they’re just too heavy for that. My feet were sweating massively, and the solid ankle support was overkill, slogging down my stride. Maybe I should the kids’ version. My daughter doesn’t have the same complaints about hers.

If you don’t ride, note- paddock boots will loosen with wear and tall boots will ‘drop’ and mold to your feet/leg depending on the quality. Ariat makes great boots, mules, and shoes. This is maybe my 10th or 12th pair over a lifetime of wearing paddock boots. Back when we had to walk uphill both ways in the snow…. ?, we didn’t have zip paddock boots and had to lace them! Lacing makes for a faster break-in for the field and paddock boots though. I have spine problems and wear several types of Ariats to work and love them!

I bought these boots for an upcoming trip to Scotland in May where I am expecting lots of walking, rainy weather and city sightseeing. Many reviewers bought these boots for trips to Ireland (similar weather) so I thought I’d give them a try. I have a pair of Ariat hiking boots that I love so I am familiar with its “rugged” reputation. I tried them out on a recent trip to SF where it rained like the Dickens! To my suprise, they were very waterproof (stepped in a puddle and everything!!!) I knew by the reviews to keep the zipper at half position for a while and that helped a lot because the ankle did feel tight and constricting. I wore these boots with skinny jeans folded up and they were really cute. I could see wearing these with black leggings and a skirt. I was suprised though that the boot’s zipper triggered the metal detector at the airport…good to know if you plan to wear them for traveling. I was however disappointed in the skid proof properties; I felt like I would slip if I wasn’t careful…this is not so with some of my boots with lugs and rubbery soles (Uggs), and the sole wasn’t very cushy (also, like my Uggs) but maybe I can compensate with insoles. Overall, I am happy with my purchase and the price point was right for me. I am banking on Ariat’s reputation that these boots will work for me in the long-term since I live in the Pacific NW and will get lots of use out of the waterproof qualities. These are cute, feminine looking boots that suit this 60+ yr old’s fashion sense and practicality. Recommend.

This is the best paddock boot available. I read the other reviews and decided to size up a half size and it fits perfectly. I have really appreciated that it waterproof when I am out in the cold mud and rain. This has been a great purchase!
Elise T –
So comfortable with little to no break in period. Love Ariat.
Ctray10 –
These are probably my 5th pair of Ariat paddock boots and I’m never ever changing brands. The only reason I’ve had so few is because they last forever! The pair I’m replacing these with are 4 years old and they’ve been through the ringer but are still comfy and waterproof (somehow!). Keep up the best work, Ariat!
Joanna –
Great comfortable waterproof boot. I walk many miles a day working with horses and these boots are my second pair. Ariat’s quality is the best. Love these boots.
Ksweeney –
I wore my last pair almost everyday for the last three years in mud, hot heat, mucking, riding! They are the perfect paddock boot, super comfortable and well made!
TTEMP –
Love these boots! Wear them almost everyday. Love the look, the waterproof feature and rhe durability!!!
JillC –
Love these boots! Perfect fit with no need to break them in! Will take to Europe for riding trip and they will double as hiking boots.
NancyS –
Love this boot! Saw it on an influencer’s list and am glad I gave them a try! I have another pair of Ariat’s (a Chelsea boot) that I’m also very happy with. What can I say about these paddock boots: very cute (particularly with ankle jeans); comfy heel-hugging support that Ariat is so good at; low heel that is made for walking but with a special stylish flair; definitely true to size; could possibly be snug on the top for those with higher arches (mine are quite low); give them a try! I think they’ll be the perfect shoe for a rainy UK vacation.

After a short break-in period, these became my everyday boots. I love the style and they are easy to maintain. I have found the first portion of the shoe to really show wear was the leather on the outside of the boots by the toe.

This is my 2nd pair of the zippered paddock boot, plus all my other riding boots are Ariats. Love the brand
MRockTX –
I purchased these and a pair of lace-up Paddock boots and I love them both. This pair is nice because of the zip. They don’t snap, but they’re secure and sturdy. Worth the price.
AKhordr –
Just wore through my old pair and purchased my next set. So comfortable!

We love this boot. Have ordered every time we need a new boot.
LegallyBlondeinUT –
Excellent boot for western horseback riding. I’ve been riding horses in the mountains nearly my entire life (I’m now in my 40s). These are my favorite boots to wear, even more so than my western boots.
Xtina –
Great boots, very comfortable, no rubbing on my ankles. I’m on my feet between 8-12 hours a day and I’m very happy to have found these comfortable boots!
