One of the best boot I’ve ever had –
I’m not a horse woman, I needed a sturdy leather boot to wear and look good in. There was no “break in” period, no blisters nor sore feet. These boots were so comfortable. The fit was ideal. Heal fit snug but no too snug. Toe area was roomy enough for my wigglers, which is important because there’s nothing worse than toe pincher’s. I love my boots.
Great Boot –
Ordered at 8:00 p.m. Got them at 12:00 noon the next day! I walk around a 42,000 sq. foot building all day long and I cannot have my feet hurting. It was time for new boots and these are by far the BEST I have ever put on my feet! GREAT fit, excellent support NO break in time at all. Very light weight. I just ordered another pair. Thank You once again Zappos for the best service I have ever seen!
The right ones! I work in a very large warehouse so there is a lot of walking all day. I have had these boots for a few months now and will still give them a great review. I have back problems and these help. I also have a high arch and it is hard to find a boot or shoe with a high enough arch. If you are on your feet a lot these are the best. I have been through a lot of shoes trying to find the right ones.
I bought this shoe for easy hiking and horseback riding. I love the shoe for both. Very comfortable shoe and it fits true to size.

What a surprise – Not only did I get free overnight shipping, but I also got the best relief my knees have had since I left the cold weather in Iowa. Yes, my knees where so bad I thought I would have to go to a doctor, but the shoes saved me that bill. Thank you Ariot.
A comfortable shoe –
I was looking for a shoe that I could wear everyday with casual pants, jeans, etc and found that shoe. The Ariat Terrain is excellent for long hours on your feet, for walking and of course hiking. It’s an excellent all weather shoe as well. I have received many compliments about its appearance. I usually wear a size 10 but took a 9.5 instead. Order a half size down.

This felt very true to size to me. Might be a bit narrow if you have a really wide foot, but there’s no pressure across the top of my foot and I have high arches. I have a pair of Hush Puppies suede flat moc-type boots that I have been looking to replace (after 5 years of wearing) and these are even better because they can go with jeans and even be dressed up a bit because of the wedge. But the sticky rubber sole will keep you from falling on your butt during icy conditions. The suede is a very low nap that I think will stay looking nice for years to come. I’m getting the Durango in black, which seems to be a taller version of this boot. Love them!
True to size –
Love the boot. Pretty much try to size, although I did have another pair to ensure correct size prior to online ordering. Boot is very comfortable. Got mine for cruising on my Fatboy.

Very good looking shoes.
This is my 3 pair of Ariat Terrain shoes. But these are the most comfortable. They don’t feel like you have to break them in. They are so soft and yet a very sturdy boot. The service was very quick considering the weather and distance they had to be shipped. Thank you.
These boots are very comfortable. We ride horses and motorcycles and they work for both. Very comfortable to walk in all day. This is my second pair and would reccomend to anyone. My husband also has a pair and is very satisfied with them.\r\n\r\nI ordered them one day from zappos and received them the next. Excellant serviceA!!

I have tarsal tunnel syndrome (just like carpal tunnel, but in the foot) in one of my feet and have had a really tough time finding hiking books that are serviceable, comfortable and don\’t make my problem foot numb when properly laced. I tried the Ariat\’s after realizing my Ariat cowboy boots are good on both feet. The Ariat Terrains are terrific and I highly recommend them for anyone who suffers from tarsal tunnel and still likes to stay very active. They hold orthotics easily and comfortably. The tread traction on the trail is perfectly fine, too, by the way.
These boots were extremely comfortable right out of the box. I wore them right after receipt on vacation in Washington DC. I walked for 4-6 hours a day for 10 days through most of the Smithsonians and even in snow (no slipping) without a single complaint. My feet stayed warm, dry, and comfortable. Amazing shoe for the price. Kinda homely in person, but I’m into functionality over form when hiking, urban, or otherwise. I have not tried these riding as I use a different kind of boot for that so I can’t comment on that aspect of the shoe. The sole is very flexible and somewhat thin under the toe section of the shoe. So hardcore mountain hiking probably wouldn’t be a good “fit” for this boot. A little shoe humor there…
These are the perfect all-around boots. They work for trail riding, hiking, or everyday wear. This is my third pair. I also have the waterproof version, which is great for muddy treks through the pasture to catch my horse. My one note of caution is that they run BIG. I wear size 8 in all other shoes, but 7 1/2 in these, and I still have room for heavy wool socks.

Finally, I can’t say enough good things about this boot. Quality, comfort, looks, durability; I love these boots, and finally got a color I needed.
I have an Ariat shoe from many years ago – still looks good.

I have 2 pairs of these boots. I have tender feet and love cushioning. These guys are the best. I’ve hiked, motorcycled, gone to the mall, etc. There is not a negative word to say about these! Totally shocked me. They are the only boots that I own. Fact is the 1st pair sat in my closed for about 6 month for fear that I would get blisters! Not a chance!

I had purchased the Ariat Terrain H2O and loved them. So it was a natural to order these. They are every bit as comfortable and look just as good. I needed black and I use them on my motorcycle. These are a great shoe at an excellent price.
Excellent arch support, light flexible shoe which feels like a sneaker.

I love these boots! Can’t find them anywhere else in black, but I did have to order a whole size bigger.
I bought these for my mother because at 69, her feet were hurting when we ride horses. She comments now during her ride how comfortable these are all the time! What a relief! So, the ratings are based on her answers.
Lightest, most comfortable boot I have ever had the pleasure to wear. And still with that great Ariat stability & strength!
When I first read the reviews about this boot, a few years ago, I was skeptical. How could these boots be as good as people were saying? Now, I own 4 pair and dread the day they aren’t available any longer! Comfortable cushion, never painful. I can’t say enough. I wear them constantly.

The most comfortable shoe ever! Perfect horseback riding shoe (great for ground work & has a riding heel; provides sole traction in stirrup); great for light hiking & city walking shoes. Comfort level of a sneaker or slipper. Makes your foot look smaller; I wear a 9 or 9.5 and take an 8.5 in these. I have wide feet and these are so comfortable. Soles are self cleaning. 7 other woman at my riding stable bought these after I raved about them. I have taupe suede for horses; black leather for city walking/rain boots. Use Mink Oil on the leather to waterproof. Use Tanna spray to stain & waterproof the suede.

Sooo Comfortable! I bought these for my very finicky daughter. She attends an agricultural H.S. and needed boots for the stables. She loves them so much she wears them when she is’t required to. Great purchase.
I purchased these for work shoes, as I’m on my feet on cement for 8+ hrs a day. Wasn’t sure how they would do, but figured I could always use them for riding if nothing else. As usual, these Ariats are extremely well made, I have tons of their western boots and love them all. They do run large, however. I had read the reviews and bought a half-size smaller than I normally wear, but they are still a bit large. It’s not bad, especially with a thick pair of socks, but I would recommend getting a whole size smaller than you usually wear. And though they are comfortable, they aren’t ‘cushy’ enough for me to wear 4 days in a row, 10 hrs a day, on cement. I have plantar fasciitis, so have heel pain. But for the average person wanting a comfortable barn or hiking shoe, these would be great. I find myself wearing these out all the time for my errands. I am very pleased with these and feel they are an excellent value.
I love these boots! This is my second pair of Terrains – and these are the perfect fit for my 11W foot – sometimes I have to buy men’s sizes but these had enough room and I can even wear a thick sock if needed.
